The Babushka Series of paintings were inspired by a trip to Ukraine in 2008. I was with a team of 10 women volunteering with Hungry For Life International to help the widows and orphans in villages by providing them with the basic necessities of life.

In May 2008, I joined a sketching group to France and we followed in the footsteps of Monet, Cezanne and Van Gogh as we sketched the scenes of Provence and Paris. The paintings are a result of this trip.
