“Painting
primarily in acrylic because it is so versatile, I also incorporate
various media and objects to create my pieces of art. Working in a
series is something I like to do whether it is still life of
pomegranates, oranges or the calla lily flower or special places I
have visited or lived in. It is the fascination of something
specific like color, texture, line, mood, and/or light of the
landscape, flower or object that influences me. But my largest
series which is very special to my heart is the Ukrainian
series which started after a mission trip to Ukraine in 2008
to help the widows and orphans. I was inspired by the widows’
resilience, the countryside and also my mother’s Ukrainian heritage.
This series has been shown in Saskatoon, Toronto and Vancouver
Island."
